Also known as the Boulevard S40, it was first introduced in 1986. It was not very successful in the market and it led to the company halting its production until 1995. The ‘S’ stands for ‘Savage’ and the tag Boulevard was introduced in 2005 when Suzuki decided to brand all its cruiser bikes with that label. It is considered an ideal bike for starters who have taken the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) since it handles very well, though it is only best for commuters and not for long cruises due to its limitations on speed. It also gives great gas mileage and wonderful throttle response. Its headlights utilize a single H4 HID tungsten-halogen light bulb with a P43T base that gives 60/55 watts for high and low beam respectively, which is about one and half times more illumination than a standard incandescent bulb. It has either a blue or violet tint and costs US $ 8.50.
