Also referred to as the Speed Triple 675, it was introduced to the market by a revamped Triumph in 1994 as a ‘Streetfighter’ bike. This was a category of bikes with sporting qualities but without the aerodynamic features common in modern ones. It borrows its name from the 1938 iconic Triumph Speed Twin that was considered a strong machine in its day. The market reaction was fairly good largely owing to the success of its sister models in the 1970s but although praised for its rugged looks and performance, it had its shortcomings. It was criticized for its dismal handling that made it unpopular with beginners despite its stability and reputation for reliability. It also has a single headlight that is fitted with a normal incandescent bulb which is best replaceable with a P43T based extreme white xenon HID H4 halogen light bulb that gives the standard 60/55 watt light and retails for US $ 8.50.
